A LOVEly trip to Portland!

I'm back from my weekend away! We had a great time in Portland, Oregon and while it was a quick trip, we had lots of fun.

We left Idaho on Friday evening and Weston did great on the plane. Only a little fussing at the end because he was tired of sitting still. I think it helped we let him crawl around and burn off a bunch of energy before we got on the plane.

Someone is excited to fly!

He fits :) Guess he can be my carry on!

ready to take off...sleepy boy.
Saturday morning we got up and stopped in at IKEA! We actually had breakfast there and it was pretty tasty for $2 bucks! I got all the things on my shopping list and filled an extra suitcase to take back home :)

After IKEA was the main event of the weekend! The Young House Love book signing!

Rejuvenation is a super cool store! Lots to look at
while in line waiting to meet John and Sherry!

I was totally geeking out while there :)

the long line...waited a little over an hour.
While in line, I was chatting with some people and we were talking about where we'd come from. I said I flew over from Idaho and one gal asked me if I flew over just for the book signing. I said "no, we are also seeing friends while here" and she said, "Oh good. I don't know why, but that makes me feel better." I had to laugh, because while I lucked out that my sister also happend to be in Portland the same weekend, I totally would have come over just for the book signing. It was my motivating factor for the weekend I did come :) And I chose Portland rather than another West Coast tour stop because of IKEA! So, Young House Love and IKEA are the reasons I travel!

BOOKS!

some shots of John and Sherry while waiting in line!

someone got their staple gun signed. too cute!
When I got up to the table I was chatting with John and Sherry and introduced Weston. They both got pretty excited about "another Weston!" and Sherry had to take a picture of my Weston to send to Katie Bower! (She has a new little Weston of her own!)

it's another Weston!

Weston was pretty enamored with John :)

Another Gal in line was talking about how she feels like a stalker
because we know all this stuff about John and Sherry and we're just
random people "celebrity stalking" them :) I totally agree! It's so weird
because it feel like you know them! And FYI, They are super nice in
person too!

After the book signing we went on the Tram to get a nice little view of the city. It was a fun little ride and a great view. Although there wasn't much to do at the top besides look at the scenery. So if you're expecting some awesome activites up there, don't be. It just goes to the hospital :)

too cloudy to see Mt. Hood

an awesome view!

My Mom, Me and Weston

My Mom and her friend Ellie

We had dinner that evening at the Kennedy School. It was a pretty cool place! My dinner was kind of blah, but the atmosphere helped make up for that!

Sunday morning we got up and had breakfast with my sister and her friend at Jam! It was super tasty and very kid friendly.

yummy!

siiiiip!

Then we hit IKEA one last time while on our way back to the airport. All in all, a fabulous trip!

Celebrity Stalker, out :)

That's so cool - they live across the river from me and I love reading their blog and recognizing some of the stores they go to in Carytown!

Glad you had a good time!
