Stretch Marks: yep, Josh told me last night I look like a sexy tiger :)

Sleep: I CANNOT get comfy! It's ridiculous. I'm ready to be able to sleep on my stomach again.

Movement: Yes! But he's running out of room in there.

Symptoms: Some contractions, some pelvic pressure, 2 centimeters dialated...now if things would just start happening!

Food Cravings: I am loving food, just wish there was more room

Gender: My little man!

What I Miss: Sleep...but I suppose this will be something I will miss for quite a while!

What I'm Looking Forward to: his arrival!

Milestones: DUE DATE!

Emotions: Excited. Someone needs to get out of my belly!

Sleep: I fall asleep early, but then I'm up by 1 or 2 am wide awake. So I go watch TV in the living room so I don't wake Josh! Then I pass out on the couch. I don't think he's surprised to find me sleeping on the couch anymore :)

Movement: Yes! But he's running out of room in there.

Symptoms: I upped my mg of antacid so that is a bit better controlled.

Food Cravings: I want to eat everything I see though, but there is just not enough room to eat as much as I want to!

Gender: My little man!

What I Miss: walking without pain

What I'm Looking Forward to: his arrival!

Milestones: 1 week left!

Emotions: DONE! It is time to get this little boy out!

Sleep: I want more, but I'm getting 7-9 hours a night.

Movement: Those are getting kind of painful! He's running out of room in there.
Symptoms: movement and a few contractions

Food Cravings: Water and cheese.

What I Miss: walking normal. I had a coworker laugh at me this morning as I hobbled into the building :)

What I'm Looking Forward to: his arrival!

Weekly Wisdom: everyone keeps reminding me to pack my hospital bag and make sure the car seat is installed. I like to tell them I've had that done for almost a month now :)

Milestones: 1 week and I'm "full term"!!!

Emotions: starting to get antsy...one more week and he's getting an eviction notice! And I will start using the stairs more and encouraging him to move on out!

What I'm Looking Forward to: the holidays being over so I can actually shop in peace :)

Weekly Wisdom: It's not really wisdom, but I found it interesting. My midwife was trying to tell what position baby was in and was feeling around. She couldn't tell what was his butt and what was his head so she busted out the ultrasound. Turns out what she thought was his head is actually his butt and she declared that he had buns of steel :)

Milestones: 50 days!!!

Emotions: easily irritated!

Picture of Baby: no new ones, but I've been measuring large so I may be able to get another ultrasound before he's born...they want to make sure he's not getting too huge in there!

Sleep: I don't think I will sleep comfortably again until after baby is here

Symptoms: lots of movement, lots of stretching

Food Cravings: Nothing really. Just hungry

What I'm Looking Forward to: sleeping in on the weekend

Weekly Wisdom: nothing new

Milestones: 9 weeks left! We're down to single digit weeks :)

Emotions: Pretty dang bitchy. It doesn't take much to piss me off these days. It's not fun. I'm sure I'm not the most plesant person to be around...but if people would just stop being so rude and insensitive I might not be so angry! Pregnancy is hard and unless you've been there/done that, you do not know how hard it is and do not get to complain about your pain and act like mine doesn't count and therefore your opinion is Moo. (Like a cows thoughts. It's Moo. Aah, I miss that show.)

New Flooring in the Kitchen!!!

So our kitchen floors went from this....

It is a Pergo flooring that looks like marble.

so pretty and bright!

We got a killer deal at the Habitat for Humanity ReUse store. It helps that my dad is the manager and lets me know when awesome stuff comes in :) They had a gal donate just enough of this flooring for me to do the kitchen! We think she ordered too much from Lowes and they wouldn't take it back since it was a custom order, so I lucked out! It was only $1/square foot and already had the pad on the back. I still need to caulk and paint the baseboard and put down the trim strip between the kitchen and living room (hence the towel over the transition on the floor in the after pic) but it already has made the room look so much better. The previous owners had really scratched up the linoleum in there and it was in major need of replacing.

Now I just need to save up for the living room floors to be replaced. That carpet is getting pretty worn out...hopefully before baby starts crawling! :)

Sleep: I've been sick this week so it's not been great

Movement: Oh yes. I'm starting to know where he is specifically in there. It's weird.

Food Cravings: I had to have a corn dog yesterday. That was weird.

Gender: My little man!

What I Miss: sleeping without needing to get up to pee

What I'm Looking Forward to: lunch!

Weekly Wisdom: um...go with the flow

Milestones: I passed my glucose test! And I only have 10 weeks left!

Emotions: Pretty Happy. Due to some changes with the hubby's job, he's home for now and we're not sure of the exact date he may deploy. So there is a small chance he could be here for the birth!

Milestones: I had my glucose test this week...I'll update with results when I get them! I'm also in the 3rd trimester, and I get to start going to doc appointments every other week!

Emotions: I'm easily weepy, but I can handle it :)

Baby's Bedroom!

I have finished baby's bedroom! (all except his crib skirt, but there is nothing under his bed at the moment, so we will see when I will get around to that!)

These are tackable to hang pictures on! The cross hung over Josh's crib when he was a baby.

Alphabet frame I put together. I just typed it out, played
with the colors in photo shop and put it in a frame! Super easy decor.

The cups have health care items, pacifiers, etc. Baby's name blocks
will go on the shelf next to the stuffed dog (Which was also Josh's
when he was a baby!)

Books and Toys

although I had to move the baskets of toys up a shelf since the cats
thought those toys were for them...

That left organizer is all blankets! The little
organizer is all bibs, burp cloths and hats

I've been told these diapers will last me a few months...maybe!

So that is baby's room. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. I think we are all set for his arrival. I have a few more things to wash and hang up and then I'm done! I think we're going to install the car seat this week while Josh is home, the stroller is all assembled and ready to go. Now I just need to pack his diaper bag and my hospital bag and we're all set. I like being prepared. And I'm hoping by being over prepared, he won't come too early!

Doll House Fun

I recently helped my friend Amy make a doll house for her daughter Hannah! It was so much fun creating this masterpiece. I was able to use samples of fabric, carboard, and lots of hot glue to decorate this bad boy. Amy got a bookcase from Target, and then I made furniture out of lots of random items...Tupperware, jewelry boxes, wood samples and more. We "Wallpapered" the walls with scrapbook paper and hung up lots of "artwork". Hannah was very thrilled with her dollhouse! Check it out.

some extra stick down floor tiles from
when I redid my bathroom floors.

How Far Along: 22 Weeks

Size of Baby: According to Baby Center, length of a spaghetti squash
Picture of Baby: no new ones, but maybe next week. I have to go back for the 2nd half of my 20 week screen because little mister wasn't cooperating for some images they needed of his heart!

Maternity Clothes: Can I tell you a little secret? Maternity slacks look a lot like Yoga Pants...and since I'm cheap and already owned 3 pairs of Yoga Pants...I've been wearing those for work pants! Yup, sweats to my office job. I'm awesome.

Weight Gain: 6 lbs

Belly Button: It's still in.
Stretch Marks: yep
Sleep: Decent this week. Having the bed all to myself is the one advantage of Josh being deployed again. Oh? I didn't mention that before...ya, he's gone, again, and won't be home for the birth. Kinda bummed over here...and a big reason of why I've been pretty absent from my blog lately.
Best Moment of the Week: Got his quilt made and his crib is up and the room is really coming together! All I have left to make is his crib skirt and curtains. Then it's just a matter of waiting for my showers to get the rest of his gear.
Movement: Yes! So freaky

Symptoms: lots of peeing and baby movement

Food Cravings: Sugar this week. I really hope I don't get GD (Gestational Diabetes)
Gender: My little man!

What I Miss: people not giving me their opinions on what I'm eating! I am eating as healthy as I can for someone who hates veggies. I freaking blended up spinach last night and baked it into a quiche just so I'm eating some veggie. And there is a good blob of ground spinach blended into the smoothie that I'm drinking at the moment. Despite what some people seem to think, I am not trying to have a sick baby. What I'm Looking Forward to: my showers are in just about a month! (I know...I'm not due until February...yes, it's early to be having my showers. BUT, would you want to go to a shower during Christmas time when you would rather be hanging with your family? Or go first thing in January right after you've just bought a ton of Christmas Presents? Doubtful. I'm beating the holiday rush!)

I've been working on baby boy's room and have some fun new things to show off! I'm trying to work with a lot of stuff that I already had but update it to fit my "green and blue theme" I have going on in his room. I'm trying to keep it from screaming baby in there. I'll have a few cute things, but really, I don't want a super cutesy theme that I will have to replace as soon as he's a toddler.

So far it's just been repainting a few canvases and adding some shelves and changing out the fabric in some tackable frames. I'm mostly sticking with a color palate and not focusing on a true theme. Mostly just lots of patterns and textures and a more organic feel while keeping to my color scheme. (green and blue with the larger items being neutral black, white and gray)

I've also been checking out sales on clothes whenever I'm at the store and I happened upon a great sale at Fred Meyer. They had baby clothes marked down and then another 60% off of the lowest price, so I got some great deals!

I'm usually picky about onesies that say stuff
on them, but this one was too cute!

Josh and I have a slight obsession with overalls.
I have a slight obsession with little boys in plaid!
And when they have Oskosh for $10 or less...it's
hard to not buy a few pairs!

I already had this canvas in brown, but repainted it green!

And I already had this one done as well,
I just added the splashes of green. When he
gets older, I may let him repaint these to be
his own creations in the room. Could be fun!

The dresser/changing area. Baby pic will go in
the frame and his name will be displayed on the
empty shelf. The cups have his hair brush, nasal
aspirator, etc in them for easy access. I am
registered for his changing pad cover so after my
shower I'll get that on there! It's green :)

These are the same fabrics that will be on his
bedding. I took a few small chunks for the walls
in his tackable frames. I'll pin up photos of him
and us all together once we have them!

So there is a little sneak peak of his nursery. Once I have my shower and get the rest of my gear I'll do a full tour. I'm still working on a few little things for in there. I'm also storing the supplies for a friend's baby shower in there so it's a bit messy and the crib is full of that stuff. So, in about a month and a half, I should have a completed nursery to show off! I'm sure you can hardly wait :)

*I have purchased the fabrics for baby boy's bedding. Now I just need to sew it.

*Sometimes baby sits so low down in there, I swear he is trying to make a break for it! I have to keep reminding him he's not done baking yet.

*I'm throwing a baby shower for a friend of mine and we finally got the invites all finished up! It's a "Monster Shower" and it's going to be so cute. I'll try to post picks of the invites soon. They turned out pretty good.

*I am so ready for summer to be over. I'm sick of the heat!

*My fingers are too swollen to wear my wedding ring :( This makes me sad. It's barely fitting on my pinkie right now. Time to get a temporary fake-o.

*Buying stamps is the most inconvenient thing. I hate having to get to the post office and actually purchase them. Can't I just mail stuff and they send me a bill for postage sent from my address or something? That would sure be convenient.

Maternity Clothes: just the belly band! My grandma asked me what I want for my birthday today (it's about a month away) and I told her more maternity clothes. I have a feeling this band isn't going to hold in baby much longer!
Weight Gain: we're at 3lbs total. I don't need to gain a ton since I wasn't tiny to start with, so I'm trying to keep it down :)

1. I'm seriously excited for my doctor's appointment today. I'm going to try and get her to do an ultrasound so we can take a guess at the gender! Even better...she had a cancellation, so my appointment was moved up and I was previously the last appointment of the day, so now she will have extra time to spend with me so I really think I can convince her to do the US!

2. I need to go grocery shopping...BADLY. Our cupboards are kind of pathetic looking right now, but I have had no motivation to cook, so it makes it tough to want to keep the fridge full of food. Perhaps tonight I'll motivate myself to get to the store, if for nothing else than milk...I am seriously so lazy.

3. I'm SO ready for the weekend. I want a few days to sleep in and relax. I need a few days to decompress! I don't do stress well.

4. I got a great deal on some pergo flooring for our kitchen! I can't wait to get it installed. Now I just need to bribe the family with pizza for their installation skills...

5. I went to a stamp class last night. It was fun, but I was stamping until almost 10 last night! I'm seriously so tired today...that's a lot of crafting, even for me! (I'll try to post pics tomorrow or Monday)

It's been a long couple of days. I went camping this last weekend and did not get enough sleep. My back has been killing me lately and life in general has been a bit more stressful than I care for. How Far Along: 15 Weeks

Picture of Baby: nothing new. I have an appointment next week so maybe then...

Maternity Clothes: just the belly band! I broke down and bought a second one so I'm not scrambling to get it washed and ready for the next work day as often. I'm still resisting buying actual maternity pants. I wonder how long I can rock the band...

Weight Gain: last appointment I was up about 2.5 pounds. Who knows now. I have been craving a lot of chips...no bueno for the weight gain!

Belly: got a little something

Stretch Marks: No new ones.

Sleep: I've been propping myself up on pillows more so that's helped.

Best Moment of the Week: looking at baby clothes last night and discussing with Josh what outfits we like for the baby...both boy and girl clothes.

Movement: I hope I start feeling something soon. It would be cool to feel it moving around in there.

Symptoms: just the occasional nausea in the evenings. the boobs have seemed to finally stop hurting.

Food Cravings: Sour Cream and Cheddar Ruffles with Ridges...I have a handful of chips with my breakfast and it is seriously the best way to start my day. I also really want some starbursts...I may grab some after work :)

I seriously can't seem to make heads or tails of my cravings lately. Everything sounds delicious, yet once I actually eat, it's not tasty!

I thought the nausea and exhaustion were supposed to subside after week 12...I seriously could use a nap right now. And a sprite and some crackers. Getting up 5 times a night to pee does not make for a well rested Sarah.

I went to a baseball game with some friends last night and we didn't even watch the game! It was pretty boring so we sat in the stands and just chatted. I guess the minor leagues are just not super exciting :)

I have a mini family reunion to attend this weekend and I'm so excited! Lots of family is coming to town and it will be so nice to see everyone.

Saturday night I woke up in excruciating pain! I couldn't get comfortable, my back felt like it was on fire and breathing hurt. What the hell had I done! Turns out sitting on the hard floor for 6 hours hunched over the coffee table playing with my glue gun is NOT good for my spine. I did stuff like that pre prego status, and I'd be sore, but I was OK within a few hours. Not this time. I paid for it and I will not be doing that again. Cushy chairs and proper spine alignment are the only way to go now!

I've never been big on taking pain killers. I usually just suffer through or try to nap through pain, but my body wasn't having it this time. I've never had pain so bad that I threw up, but Sunday was an all out puke fest. I puked more Sunday than I have my entire pregnancy. It was not a pleasant day. Tylenol is now my best friend. Thanks to those magical little red pills I was able to sleep and keep some food down.

I'm happy to report after 32 hours of pain, I'm feeling better. Crafting will now take place at the dining table. And what was I making for 6 hours with the glue gun...I'm helping a friend make a doll house for her daughter so I was crafting up some furiture for her Barbies. Hannah, I hope your dolls are happy in their house!

I am seriously having a tough time getting enough sleep. I can't seem to get comfortable unless I sleep on my stomach, which is fine for right now, but I need to break that habit because the belly is getting bigger and I don't need to be laying on it!

Seriously...it needs to rain! The clouds are gray and it looks like it's going to storm. I'm really hoping it does!

Lets see...what have we been up to?

-Josh got a new job! It's with a local security company. The hours are much more flexible which means I'll get to see him more and he will have more time for school! We're very excited about this.

-We went and shot guns this weekend. That was a blast. Fun times hanging with friends.

-Went to a BBQ and got to hang with Josh's bro and his wife. Both fun events and it was nice to spend time with friends we hadn't seen in a while.

-Got some cute onesies from a friend. They are "oregon ducks" onesies and super cute. (Josh is a fan of the ducks. I'm excited for Vandal gear!)

-Josh scrubbed the kitchen floor. It looks awesome in there. And I got to sit on my butt and keep the cats out of the kitchen while he cleaned. I'm liking him having more free time! He does "chores" every few days and it's wonderful!

-Did lots of laundry. I need to do this more regularly so I don't end up with 4 loads on the weekends. Laundry is just a pain in the butt!

-Ate lots of ice cream. Waffle cones are the greatest thing on the earth right now.

-I have my latest belly pics taken...I just need to load them to the computer and add the weeks. Hopefully I can get around to that tonight. I've been lazy.

-I am loving sleeping. I took a nap yesterday and got another 9 hours of sleep on top of that last night. I'm looking forward to having some energy again here in a week or two. Come on 2nd trimester!

-We started watching Mad Men on netflix...I am liking the show, but it's slow. Why do some many people think it's just the greatest show ever?! Like I said, I like it, but I'm waiting for something to happen. It's described as a drama, but I'm not seeing much drama. Maybe I've been spoiled by the levels of drama on Flavor of Love and The Bachelorette :)

Well, that's all I can think of that's new. We're leading a pretty boring life over here. Just keeping things low key and enjoying getting to actually spend time together. Oh, one other random thought/question...I'll be almost 16 weeks at my next doctors appointment. Is that far enough along to beg for an ultrasound and maybe find out the gender?? :)

I can't control other people and their behaviors, and I'm seriously so tired of trying to make everyone happy. Time to focus on keeping calm for the baby. That has got to be my priority.

Seriously...I think I'm baby obsessed. I've already started a registry so I can keep track of what we need for the bean. I'm insane. The nice thing though...we've got lots of hand me downs coming our way, so all we really need is the crib, diapers and clothes. I'm excited!

Seriously...I want one of those beer hats that I can just put bottles of ice water and sit and suck on a straw all day. That sounds so refreshing. Too bad it's not really "work appropriate" :)

Seriously...I'm excited for my next doctor's appointment! It probably won't be anything too exciting, but I think we get to hear the heartbeat on the doppler!

Seriously...I am so exctied for this weekend. I've got a friend's wedding, date night with Josh and time to sleep in. I need a nap!

Well, I took the intelligender test this weekend...I'll share those results in a few minutes. I wanted to look at all the old wives tales and supposed ways to predict gender. We're still a good 2-2.5 months from actually finding out, but it's fun to guess! So here are the "predictors" that apply to me...

Craving sweet or savory? If you're craving sweets, it's a girl

Acne. If you have more acne, it's a girl.

Chinese Gender Calendar-says it's a girl

Your hands are very dry-it's a boy

You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an even number -it's a boy

You had morning sickness early in pregnancy-it's a girl (although this is debatable...I've not thrown up, but I've been nauseous since before I even took a HPT. I kinda consider this morning sickness though...)
Your left breast is larger than your right breast -it's a girl
You are craving fruit -it's a girl

So...I would say almost all signs point to a Girl! I've also had that "hunch" that it's a girl. I've for some reason felt that since I took the first home pregnancy test...but my hunches for friends are almost always wrong, so it's probably a boy. I guess only time will tell!

This is my old high chair from when I was a baby. My mom had it sitting in her garage so I scooped it up this summer and got to painting it. Other than the cost of 2 cans of spray paint, it was free! I like a good deal so I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Yes, I'm nuts and already accumulating baby gear :) And don't worry, I painted this way before I was prego, so no huffing fumes for this mama.

How Far Along: 5 Weeks

Maternity Clothes: Nothing yet

Weight Gain: None that I'm aware of. Maybe it's too early to be filling this thing out :) haha.

Belly: Just my usual fatness. No baby belly yet.

Stretch Marks: No new ones.

Sleep: Seems to be going well. Although I don't feel exhausted like all the books say. Is that weird?

Best Moment of the Week: Finding out this morning!

Movement: Just cramps. I won't have movement for quite a while.

Symptoms: Nausea and heartburn like Whoa.

Food Cravings: I just really love food in general!

Gender: Who knows! But I know what'd I'd prefer :)

What I Miss: Um...nothing? Although I do have a beer in the fridge that was looking tasty and will now have to be saved until February.

What I'm Looking Forward to: Making an appointment and getting to confirm with the doctors!

Weekly Wisdom: Um...don't crash my car when prego! Or ever for that matter :)

Milestones: confirming the symptoms I've had lately with the test!

Weight Gain: None that I'm aware of.

Belly: Nothing new really. My pants feel a bit tighter, but that could just be bloating.

Stretch Marks: No new ones.

Sleep: Pretty good. I could really go for a nap.

Best Moment of the Week: Well, I've had some cramping and a little bleeding yesterday, so when there wasn't anymore bleeding after that, I felt a ton better! Just hoping it was a fluke thing.

Movement: Just cramps. I really don't like all these cramps...freaks me out.

Symptoms: Nausea and heartburn and sore boobs.

Food Cravings: Ice Water

Gender: I've got my gut feelings, but I don't want to Jinx it.

What I Miss: Peeing without worrying I might see blood.

What I'm Looking Forward to: Getting an ultrasound. 4 more weeks!

Weekly Wisdom: No one has given me any wisdom because we haven't told people yet.

Milestones: Making it another week.

Emotions: A little worried. If I do start bleeding again and end up having a miscarriage, I know there is nothing I can do about it. But I really don't want that to happen! So I'm taking it as easy as I can. Putting my feet up at work. Hoping any of that helps.

Picture of Baby: I get one soon! Due to the random spotting lately, they are getting me in early!

Maternity Clothes: Nothing yet, but I've been unbuttoning my pants at work when no one is around :)

Weight Gain: None that I'm aware of.

Belly: My pants are tighter so maybe it's growing?
Stretch Marks: No new ones.

Sleep: Good. Although I'm either over hydrated and have to get up to pee once. Or I wake up in the morning thirsty as hell.

Best Moment of the Week: I had my blood work done the other day and the nurse said my beta was in the 19,000...I assume that's good :)
Movement: the bean is too tiny to feel, but it gets arms and legs this week! So hopefully I'll feel some punches in about 2 months.
Symptoms: I want to puke my guts out, but I've kept everything down. And I'm hungry every 2-3 hours. That is annoying. I'm not a big snacker. I like my 3 meals and call it a day, but I've had to pack myself lots of little meals to make it through the day. I wonder if my coworkers have caught on. Between the frequent potty breaks, constant eating and the exhaustion...but no one has said anything.
Food Cravings: Ice Water and fruit

Gender: no clue
What I Miss: regular bowel movements. Yup, constipation is so glamorous.
What I'm Looking Forward to: Getting an ultrasound on Tuesday (June 28th). We got it moved up so I'm excited to see my bean.
Weekly Wisdom: Fiber One bars and apples were suggested to help me feel better :)
Milestones: I suppose having blood work done? And we found out my blood type is O positive...is that a good thing?

Emotions: feeling pretty normal!

Weight Gain: ya...let's not talk about that. I hadn't weighed myself in a long time, and they did at the docs and apparently sitting on my lazy butt has packed on a couple of lbs. But I'm using that number as my starting number...so I'll let you know in 4 weeks.
Belly: My pants are tighter so maybe it's growing?
Stretch Marks: No new ones.
Sleep: Good. Passing out early, but then waking up at 3 AM to pee.
Best Moment of the Week: Our first prenatal appointment with the midwife! Got to see the baby on the ultrasound. She said all looked good and a nice strong heartbeat!
Movement: it was wiggling a bit during the ultrasound, but it's so tiny I can't feel anything.
Symptoms: I still want to puke my guts out. Today is pretty bad. And my poor aching boobs. Guess it's time to stop sleeping on my stomach...squishing the tatas isn't working anymore.
Food Cravings: Ice Water and "Mother's English Tea Cookies"-so yummy.
Gender: no clue
What I Miss: Feeling no nausea. But symptoms are good. Helps me be reassured things are going good in there.
What I'm Looking Forward to: telling the family on the 4th of July!
Weekly Wisdom: It's ok to take an Antacid pill...thank goodness!
Milestones: 8 weeks...2/3 of the way through the first trimester! Hopefully only one more month of pukey feeling!
Emotions: happy!

So in case you've missed the last few days, we're pregnant! What I didn't share before is, we've known...for almost a month now. As of today I'm 8 weeks, 6 days. We wanted to wait and share the good news until we were a little farther along and we'd had an ultrasound done.

I had a feeling in early June that I just might be pregnant. nausea, heartburn like crazy and my boobs seemed to grow a cup size overnight. All signs point to prego. I tested June 10th and that plus sign popped right up! I could hardly believe it. We're very excited for this baby!

Lets see...what else will you want to know? We're going with midwives at a local hospital. They have a great program that offers midwives and OB's in the same practice and unless I have complications, I'm with the midwives. I get to deliver in a hospital in their birthing suites, but again, if there is complications, I'm already on site and can scurry over to the other maternity area for the drugs.

I've also been doing weekly posts with belly pics and saving them up for after we revealed. I'll start sharing those next week!

Seriously...getting motivated this week to blog has been hard. Sorry for the absence online. Life is SERIOUSLY busy!

Seriously...car repairs are expensive! After my minor "backing into a lady in the parking lot" incident, I called my auto body place and set up a time to have all the work done. Well, 2 days and $1250.00 later, my bumper is back to normal. All I can say is, Thank God for insurance!

Seriously...I love party planning, but I swear it's a sickness. We're having family over for the 4th to roast weenies and marshmallows in our fire pit. I was fully planning to just have those 2 things and keep it simple. Well, now we've got guests bringing side dishes, I've decided to whip up some fun marshmallow pops, patriotic jello and I've even made party favors. I seriously need a hobby! Now to convince myself that I don't need to do decorations...

Seriously...I need to get off my lazy bum and exercise, or at least go for walks or something. I am not swim suit eligable this year!

Seriously...I went to 2 weddings last Saturday...and it rained. And one of them was an outdoor wedding. That sucked. Cold and wet is not fun for a wedding...especially in June! Seriously mother nature? Get your head on right.

Seriously...we had a huge thunder and lightning storm last night. I have never seen anything like it in Idaho. It was rumbling the walls of my house! I took a couple of trinkets off some shelves so they wouldn't fall down and break. Those kinds of storms do seriously not happen here. Kinda freaky.

Seriously...I can't wait for next week. It is going to be a good week...topped off by a long weekend for the 4th! Yeah!

Seriously...someone in my office uses this lotion that I think is super stinky and makes me sick every time I have to smell it! Ugh. I seriously want to vomit.

We took a mini day trip down to Twin Falls, ID on Saturday to check out the Shoshone Falls! It was a nice drive and beautiful scenery. I packed us a picnic lunch and we just spent the day relaxing and enjoying eachother's company. It was a great day. If you live anywhere around here, I suggest you check it out!

A lady and I rearended eachother last night in a parking lot! Ugh. No one is at fault since we both hit eachother. She was lucky and only had a small scratch on her fender. My poor car now has a nice crunch in the back. Now I just need to get a repair estimate and find out how much this bad boy is going to cost me! Thank goodness I have insurance and a low deductable. TGIF. I need some time to chill out this weekend!

This weekend I went to a bachelorette party in McCall. On the drive back Steph asked me to drive for her because she wasn't feeling so well. I am not super comfortable driving her car, because it's not mine and I don't know my way around her car (like where the cruise control is!). And of course I ended up speeding, so of course I got a ticket. Wow, they got expensive since the last time I got one (which was over 5 years ago! Pretty proud of myself for going that long...I know I'm a speeder.)

A few people asked me why I didn't try to get out of it, cry, etc. It's because I deserved that ticket. I get mad when I see other drivers doing something wrong and they don't get caught, so why shouldn't I get caught when I'm wrong. Like it or not, speeding is illegal, and that officer was just doing his job. Ya, it sucks that I get to spend money to pay that ticket, but I think everyone in this world needs to be held accountable for their actions. I was in the wrong, I earned that ticket. But I am bummed about the money...85 bucks buys a lot of cheese...

This was a super easy to put together gift but I think it turned out pretty adorable. I just took an egg carton, spray painted, made a little label, got a few packs of socks at Target and rolled them up and put them in the egg carton! I saw something similar to this on The Bump in their gift section, but if you ask me, it was WAY over priced. And these socks are much cuter too :) Can't wait to meet my new Niece!

Seriously...I'm excited to link up to this because I have been wanting to vent so this is seriously the perfect way to vent!

Seriously...I am so sick of some people who claim to be my friends! What are we, 12? Can they seriously think that it's OK to treat people like they don't matter? And then expect someone to not have their feelings hurt when you treat them like crap? Seriously!

Seriously...I have too many friends getting married this summer. It's getting expensive! I can handle one person...but multiple friends is adding up!

Seriously...Facebook is the devil. I love the ability to connect with friends, but the petty bull$hit some people pull is beyond frustrating and when they do it on FB...oh man...I try to keep my FB, Blog and Life drama free, but some people like to create drama and then shove it in my face for no reason! I don't talk to certain people in this world because their sheer existence makes me want to vomit, but when they then rub stupid stuff into my face, it makes me want to throw a drink in their face!

Seriously...Everybody is pregnant, and I'm jealous. I want a baby and it's not happening as quickly as I would have hoped and this makes me sad. It also DOES NOT help when people constantly ask when we're going to have one. And it really doesn't help when I feel pressure from people to just hurry up and get pregnant already. It's not for lack of trying people! Seriously, stop making me want to cry.

Weekend Recap!

We spent this past weekend in Salt Lake City and had a grand ol' time :) I got to swing by Ikea and pick up some new goodies for our home. We ate some great food at the Market Street Grill (on the suggestion of the lovely Emma. Thanks for the tip, it was FABULOUS!)

We also had dinner at Benihana's...we were not impressed. I've heard such good things about them, but we found the food to be bland, over priced and the service was sub par. The best part of that meal was the ice cream included with it and the fact that the waitress packaged it up for me so we could get out of there quicker. I don't think we will be going back there. We will stick with the local teppanyaki style restauarants from now on instead of the chains.

We also went to Lagoon on Saturday. It was a pretty good day, but I remember the rides being a lot funner when I was a kid. The new Bombora ride was probably our favorite, but we all agreed the rides could have been longer. Oh well. Next time, we'll go to Disney Land :) I was lazy and only got a few pictures, but we were having too much fun to worry about the camera!

The icing on the cake of the trip was stopping at a little cupcake shop-The Sweet Tooth Fairy (another Emma suggestion!) It was super yummy and the vanilla cupcakes were WONDERFUL. I dug right in so I only got pictures of the Rootbeer Cupcake (which was also fabulous).

It was nice to get out of town. The scenery was beautiful, we had decent weather most of the weekend and it's always fun to explore new places. Now that it's almost summer I'm getting the traveling itch again. Time to start coming up with cheap, weekend travel plans :) Any suggestions?

Current Book(s): Well I was supposed to read "Water for Elephants" for my bookclub, but I was lazy and never got around to it. So the last thing I read was "I am #4". I should probably stop being so lazy.

Current Playlist: I Gleek out on a regular basis. My ipod is filled with Glee songs! And there's been a lot of country radio lately.

Current Shame-I am far too lazy when it comes to shaving my legs...it's been bad lately! But in my defense, it's not been warm enough for bare legs!

Current Drink: Ice Water. I can't get enough. Strange.

Current Food: Leftovers. We eat a lot of left overs. I tend to batch cook at the beginning of the week, and then we munch on that stuff until we're sick of it.

Current Favorite Show: How I Met Your Mother! We've been netflixing all the old episodes and they have been tons of fun to watch.

Current Wishlist: Um...I don't know. There's nothing I'm totally "fan-girling" over at the moment and absolutely have to have. But a new job opportunity for my husband would be nice to have...there's not much work out there. He has a job, but we're always looking for something better. I think he may be going back to school here in a month or 2 since the job market is so crappy.

Current Needs: Patience.

Current Triumphs: Making my vacation days last a whole year! They renew on the anniversary of our start date, and I still have 2 days left and my renewal date is only 3 weeks away. I usually use them up long before this!

Current Bane(s) of my Existence: Specifying this law college...3 floors of furniture, multiple finishes and fabrics...We've been working on this for almost 5-6 months. I'm ready to be done with it and get it ordered!

getting that crafty urge again...

Any suggestions on where to get cheap picture frames that look kinda ornamental? I've got one in my stash of junk to refinish, but I'm not sure it's big enough for the project I have in mind. I know everyone always says Goodwill, but I don't really think our stores here have the best selection. Plus, there are SO MANY thrift stores...I'm too lazy to drive around to check out each one for the right frame. It's why I window shop online all the time. I like to know that the store I'm going into will have what I'm looking for.

PS, did you see last night's Glee! It felt kinda discombobulated in some parts, but their version of "Friday" was fantastic :)

Yes, I know, my birthday was 8 months ago. But my present from my Mom was tickets to see Wicked! And we just went and saw it last night, so...it was a super late birthday treat :) It was wonderful! I highly recommend you go see it if you like musicals and broadway and if it's coming to a town near you. Last year we saw Avenue Q. And I think the year before that was Mama Mia. I just love plays! Anywho, just had to share :) I'm in a good mood today because of it! Happy Monday all!

chillin' with my "sister wives"

We're going on vacation to Salt Lake City (SLC), Utah in a few weeks! Me, Josh, my BFF Steph and possibly another gal pal. It should be a ton of fun. We're hitting up the Ikea and heading to Lagoon-amusement park for those who aren't familiar with SLC. I'm super excited! We haven't been out of town in a while so it should be a fun little weekend adventure.

I was discussing plans and logistics with Josh the other night and when I mentioned who all was going, he said, "So it's just me and a bunch of girls?" I said, "Yes, and you can pretend we're all your wives! We are going to be in UTAH!" *

We then had a discussion about the logistics and legality of that whole "Sister Wives" thing and then I mentioned a recent episode of Raising Hope that had reverse polygamists called "Brother Husbands" and we shared a giggle. I really like that show.

So, back to Utah...any suggestions of restaurants we should check out? Places to see? Things to do? I haven't been to Utah since I was pretty young.

And I'll be sure to post pics of me and my "sister's" after our trip :)

*I understand the practice of polygamy is not the norm in Utah and the few people who are polygamists are not recognized by the Mormon church! I just find polygamy oddly entertaining because any man wanting to be "married" to that many women has got to have something wrong with him :)

Chair Affair

So our local IDI group had their annual Chair Affair last week. It was a busy couple of days, but the event was lovely and we got some great local recognition. Bribing local papers and news stations with free tickets worked out :) As the current president of the group, I even got interviewed for the Boise Weekly! For all of you who want to hear my weirdo voice and see me in live action, go here!

And for those of you who remember my little "Cup Chair" for this year...Nope, I didn't win. :( There were some great entries this year and I need to step up my game next year. But, I will not be putting my name on my entry due to some rude people and their comments. I have been told numerous times, by multiple people in the last 3 years, that they will intentionally not vote for me (cup chair winners are determined by popular vote) because I "win every time".

But in all actuality, I only won (1st place) the first 2 years. (I did win 3rd last year, but no one remembers 3rd place) This year was the 5th year we've held this contest. I was not happy about this comment, because they should vote for the chair they like the most, not avoid voting for me because they want someone else to win. I'm not saying mine should win every year. There were chairs that were way better than mine this year and they deserved to win, but those comments hurt my feelings. But, the people that said these things are not the most tactful, so I'm not surprised...

All that to say, my name will not be on my entry for 2012. I hope this will help people vote based on talent alone. I'm now taking suggestions for "pen names" :)
